24.11.11

These holidays I want to swim in the ocean, pick strawberries, run through a field of wildflowers, take lots of film photos, kiss boyfy in the shade of a giant tree, make beautiful sheer silk dresses and bake until everyone is rolly and polly.

I LOVE CHRISTMAS

20.11.11

...so I think I'm going to Byron Bay for my birthday this year and I decided that I would make a mini wardrobe of cool/awesome/amazing clothes to wear! This is mainly because I'm broke and I always feel weird doing nothing on my holidays (I love it! ... but I'm still bored).

[SANDWASHED SILK]

"Sandwashing is a process by which the silk is treated to give it an even softer surface texture, almost suede-like in feel. This fabric is incredibly soft, has a matte surface, and drapes beautifully. A straight stitch presser foot and plate will be a valuable tool for working with this fabric..."

[SILK CREPE DE CHINE]
"An opulent fabric with a glossy luster and wonderfully subtle texture, this versatile silk fabric is surprisingly light weight and possesses an excellent drape. Machine woven of reeled, cultivated silk fabric, silk fabric crepe de chine is very even and standard. and is probably the most durable of the cultivated silks. Silk crepe de chine is exceptionally forgivable when sewing as it takes thread well and will not fray when cut..."

if money was no object

...Japanese for "soft as down," silk habotai is soft, lightweight, and wonderfully lustrous. The delightful fabric has a smooth, even weave, glossy finish and a flowing drape. Our silk habotai is as light and airy as chiffon without being sheer, and is the most popular silk for painting. Habotai is also commonly used in lingerie, home décor and summer wear.

how insanely talented is Kimberly Gordon from Wildfox?!

My boyfriend's papa is playing his Turkish music that he brought back from overseas and it sounds so bizarre and out of place in our little house in Indoooroopilly. I'm sleepy.

tomorrow will be the end and the beginning

... i have all these ideas for next semester.

I keep thinking about half forgotten memories,
faded photographs and lost dreams.

AND SILK.

I LOVE SILK.

sometimes I just want to be like, fuck you - I don't care.

...this is my attempt to get psyched for summer...

I always think that if i was a photography student I would spend all my assessments creating obscure photo essays that would be dreadfully pretentious and ill conceived. But beautiful? Hopefully. ANYWAY I love this lookbook and was exceedingly excited about all these new clothes I NEEDED... until I realised 'Sunday Somewhere' is an eyewear label.

Crushed.

pretty much my dream wardrobe

...i'm not a huge fan of colour...

This is such a great idea from Madewell!
I always love the combination of whimsical hand drawn
illustrations and photographs.

...And a good old 'what to wear' guide never goes amiss either.
